Chimanimani woman charged $15 000 for illegal fuel sales

Chipinge – A Chimanimani businesswoman was this week charged $15 000 fine or 2 months in jail for unlawful sale of fuel at Nesta Petroleum Filling Station in Biriri IN Chimanimani.

Sarudzai Rusinga pleaded guilty.

Prosecutor Portia Matereke said that the accused was caught selling fuel at the filling station without a valid ZERA retail license.
She was arrested on October 22, 2020 at around 11am.

The witness Delight Dabengwa visited the filling station and found the accused’s employees selling fuel but they could not produce a license.

The crime is a contravention of Section 29 of the Petroleum Act.

“I passed by the filling station intending to carry out my routine inspection. The employees were selling fuel.
