CHIPINGE-The Chikore Community Soccer Invitational Tournament is set for this weekend with 15 teams set to lock horns as they.
Tournament organizer Evans Chamwaita Madhuku confirmed the dates to Chipinge Times and added that the teams have been put in four pools and will battle it out at four different playing grounds.
The semi-final and final match will be played on Sunday (June 26, 2022) at Chikore High School ground.
“The tournament is set for Saturday and Sunday and we have 15 teams battling it out. We intended to have a youth tournament but we decided that everyone can participate. We will present prices to the top eight teams, individual players and coaches.
“Our aim is to bring the Chikore community together through sports and to urge youth to desist from drug and substance abuse. Talent scouters will also be at the tournament. The teams competing at the weekend will also make up the 15 team Chikore social soccer league that will begin soon,” said Madhuku.
The teams have been put in four groups and the top two teams will proceed to the round of eight.
In group A Tuzuka, Shekwa, Chikore Mission and Sone will battle it out at Pfidza shopping centre, Musendekete, Academy, Young boys and Admin who will tussle it out at Chinaa High School.
Group C has Liquor City, Sakunje, Mukoteni, and Junction playing at Big Tree. Makungu, Holland and Flying Stars will compete at Chikore High.https://masvingomirror.com
