Gutu – Chief Chitsa who presides over one of the biggest chieftainships in Gutu has distanced himself from the agenda of a May 29, 2022 meeting in which the local MP called on traditional leaders to banish CCC supporters from the area.
Chitsa confirmed that he attended the meeting called by Gutu North MP Yeukai Simbanegavi at Chitsa Business Center but he told The Mirror on Friday that he has nothing to do with the meeting or its agenda.
Simbanegavi also told the chief, his troops of headmen and village heads to use violence against opposition supporters. She said anyone who supports opposition political parties will not get Government food aid in spite of this year’s debilitating drought.
“A chief doesn’t involve himself with politics. A chief is there for everyone. I am not at liberty to discuss matters that don’t concern me. The person who called this meeting is the one who should comment and give you details.
“No I can’t talk about Simbanegavi’s issues. Simbanegavi must speak on her own behalf. She must address her own issues and I will address mine. You can only call me to discuss traditional leadership and courts, full stop. (Isu tinoita misangano yeduvo yemadzishe nevanhu. Kana pane misangano yatinenge tadeedzwavo tichikwanisa kuvapo tinongosvika but usually mambo havataure politics; mambo vanochengeta vanhu vese.
(Inini I am not at liberty kuti nditaure zvinhu zvandisingazivi because at the end of the day munhu wakadeedza musangano ndiye wamungatobvunza because ndiye angatokuudzai information izere. Aiwa handingataure zvinhu zvaSimbanegavi, Simbanegavi ngaazvitaurire ega. Ini kana zviri zvanguvo zvandinenge ndichataura nemi ndinokuudzai kuti ahewa totonga matare takati takati full stop),” said Chief Chitsa. Meanwhile Simbanegavi just giggled and hang her phone when The Mirror called her for a comment.https://masvingomirror.com
