Heads of surrounding schools, traditional leaders, parents and Masvingo Rural District Council (RDC) Ward 12 Councillor Milton Mugari attended the event.
Fifty-nine pupils received stationery, school bags and prize money for excelling in academia, sports and other extracurricular activities.
Chigaba applauded the school for holding the event and implementing several self-sufficiency programs.
“This school is in good hands. It is carrying out several developmental projects. I urge other schools to emulate what you are doing here,” said Chigaba.
The school is carrying out several large scale poultry, piggery and aqua culture projects.
Some of the outstanding winners in the academia category are Audrey Manjiva, Faith Mutavikwa and Munyaradzi Murseyi. Nomatter Mutanha and Panashe Aaron won prizes in the smartness category. Takunda Chipisa and Tanaka Marashanye dominated the sports category.
School head Choice Mazhata applauded students for excelling in different fields. She also urged parents and other stakeholders to work closely and positively with her office.
“This event is very important to learners because they will work hard to get prizes next term. Parents must pay schools fees on time to promote development. As you know the school cannot operate without fees,” she said.
