MBERENGWA – Midlands Minister of State, Owen Ncube has handed over Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to Chabirwa Primary School.
He handed over the equipment that includes 20 laptops, a printer, projector and white board last Thursday.
The equipment was donated to rural schools in the Midlands by President Mnangagwa through the Ministry of Information, Communication, Technology Postal and Courier Services on March 7, this year, when he launched the National ICT Policy, Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Master plan, National Broadband plan, the optic Fibre Network Backbone, Schools ICT labs and clinic connectivity in Somabula.
Ncube said the equipment is in line with Government’s education 5.0 initiative which seeks to enhance E-learning and strengthen universal access to education.
“These laptops are part of the broader strategy by Government to modernise rural schools across the province from Mberengwa to Gokwe. I urge learners to fully utilise these laptops and take their studies seriously. I urge all girls to desist from child marriages. Equip yourself first,” said Ncube.
