Central Region secure sponsorship

MIDLANDS-The Central Region Division One Soccer League has secured a sponsorship package with Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Company who have pumped in USD $25 000. This development was confirmed to Mirror Sport by the region’s acting vice chairperson, Thomas Marambanyika.
He added that the sponsorship will go a long way in the development of football in the region.
Currently it is the least represented region in the premier with champions FC Platinum and new boys Sheasham the only two teams representing the region and getting sponsors is a way of trying to revamp the league. The league has seen also a team relegated each season with Whawha the latest to be relegated.
Marambanyika said the sponsorship is welcome as they seek to bring better football in the region.
“Central Region Soccer League has signed a sponsorship deal with Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Company, the deal is for three years with a total sponsorship package of USD$25 000. Going forward the region is now branded as Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League. As a region we are very grateful to this sponsorship and it will go a long way to enhance competitiveness in the region,” he said.
Marambanyika also revealed that the league will this season have its traditional 18 teams. The league was played with 14 teams last season with Shabanie mine FC, Ivan Hoe and Blanket Mine having pulled out which resulted in the league having a fast end as compared to other regions.The league finished with Sheasham getting promotion to the Premier league and TelOne finished as runners up.The league is scheduled to start on the weekend of March 18-19, 2023, and affiliation fees is pegged at USD $1850 for old clubs and new clubs are paying USD $2350.
