MASVINGO – Outgoing CCC Masvingo Urban Ward 2 councillor Roki Kamuzonda is contesting the same seat as an independent candidate.
He filed his papers at the nomination court, which is underway at Masvingo City Council.
Kamuzonda was booed by CCC supporters as he submitted his documents.
He spoke to The Mirror and confirmed his position.
Shantel Chiwara is the party’s candidate for Ward 2.
Sources allege that she got 17 votes at the primary election against Kamuzonda’s 269 votes. Lawyer Frank Chirairo allegedly led the race with 361 votes.
