CHIMANIMANI – Keeping rounds of beer flowing when others run dry is a show off that can get you killed in Chipinge, an imbiber learned the hard way.
Kangai Jimu (36) of Mucha Village under Chief Mutema in Chipinge is battling for his life at Victoria Chitepo Hospital after he was stabbed with a knife all over the body for buying too many beers at Paidamoyo Junction, Chief Muusha in Chimanimani. He was accused of showing off.
Manicaland Acting Provincial Police Spokesperson Ass Insp Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident and said the accused has been arrested.
It is understood that on May 19, 2022 at 830pm Jimu was in the company of his friends drinking beer at a beerhall at Paidamoyo Junction when Amal Mundondo (19) of Dzingire Village, Chief Mutema confronted the former and his friends accusing them of showing off with the way they were buying beer.

A misunderstanding then ensued. Mundondo left Jimu and his friends at the beerhall.
Jimu later left the beerhall to go home. Mundondo suddenly emerged from nowhere, pulled out a knife and stabbed Jimu several times all over the body and fled the scene leaving Jimu lying on the ground and bleeding profusely.
Mundondo told his father Mishack Mundondo what had happened and Mishack made a Police report leading to the arrest of his son. Jimu was rushed to Chipinge District Hospital where he was referred to Victoria Chitepo because of his condition.https://masvingomirror.com
