ZVISHAVANE– Nyasam investments proprietor Nyasha Mhazo has been conferred with an honorary humanitarian award for the charity work he is doing in and around Zvishavane.
Mhazo was presented with the accolade by Zvishavane Youth Awards at a ceremony held at Pote Hill Hotel recently. The ceremony was attended by several business people from the mining town.
The award is in recognition of the immense charity work done by Mhazo including paying fees over 20 pupils, assisting youth in starting business ventures, donating food stuffs and providing shelter to the less privileged and donating furniture to schools.
Mhazo said he was elated to receive the award which came as a surprise to him.
“We honestly never expected to receive this award given that we do charity work without any cameras or posting on social media. We recently donated furniture to a school in Maglas Township and we were shocked to hear about it at the awards ceremony. It’s good to realize that people can notice the good things that are done,” he said.
The businessman recently celebrated his birthday with the less privileged at Jairos Jiri Old People’s home.
Nyasam investments was formed in 2019 and sells tiles, hardware and kitchen ware. The company is headquartered in Zvishavane and has a branch in Chivi.
Mhazo co-runs the business with his wife Tanaka Mhazo who is the general manager and Fadzai Mahwite who is his … as the kitchenware manager.
“We are focused on expanding the business in 2023 and to continue doing charity work. We have realized that there is a lot of demand for our products and services,” he said.
