Buhera man burns stepmother’s house

MUTARE –Provincial Magistrate Richard Ramaboure has slapped a Buhera man with a two year jail term for burning his stepmother’s room and destroying all her property.

Oswell Nemadire was handed down the sentence on Monday at Mutare Magistrates Court.

Prosecutor Loice Kenha told the court that Nemadire broke into his stepmother, Joice Ndari’s room at Ndari homestead, Nechakohwa Village under Chief Chamutsa in Buhera on September 11, 2022 and set it alight.

The fire reduced to ash a double bed, two pushing trays, a wardrobe, dinner plates, plastic plates, five blankets, school bags, plastic buckets, four three legged pots, four kango pots, 20kg maize meal, 1x50kg cement bag, washing dishes and clothes among other household properties.
