BUHERA – Edward Dzapasi (67) was installed fifth headman Makuvise on Friday last week at an event graced by many dignitaries including Senator Shephered Chengeta who is also Chief Makumbe.
The installation ceremony took place at Changamire Business Centre and was presided by Manicaland Provincial Development Coordinator (PDC) Edgars Seenza.
Seenza urged traditional leaders to work together with government departments in developmental initiatives in the district.
“The Government of Zimbabwe takes into cognisance the availability of traditional leaders and I encourage you to work with government departments in order to foster development in the district,” said Seenza.
Dzapasi presides over a large area incorporating 36 villages under Chief Nyashanu in Buhera Central.
His installation ceremony was attended by Chief Nyashanu, Buhera Central MP Gijima Nyashanu, headmen Mombeyarara, Neshava, Mabvuregudo, Murwira, three councillors, some government officials and several ordinary villagers.
Dzapasi has one wife and eight children, two boys and six girls.
