Boltrec clinches Mimosa GM trophy

ZVISHAVANE-Engineering giants Boltrec Engineering clinched the Mimosa General Manager’s tournament after a convincing 3-1 victory over Rigs (Mobile Equipment) in a soccer final played at Green Park, Mimosa on Friday last week.

Boltrec got goals from Tafadzwa Runoza, Stewart Ndou and lan Moyana while Rigs scored a consolation through Francis Mpinduri.

The three-week round Robin final featured 18 Mimosa departments which include Loss control, Copper kettle, Mine machines, Plant, Mining North and South, Assets, and Ventilation.

All the teams that participated got soccer jerseys for the Mimosa social league. Projects came fourth and got 30 electric kettles, MHL came third and got 30 steam irons. Rigs got 30 pieces of torso slider and silver medals for finishing second. For coming first Boltrec got gold medals and 30 cooler bags.

Onard Murenga was the top goalscorer of the tournament with four goals while Tafadzwa Runoza was crowned player of the tournament and Tanaka Muguti was crowned goalkeeper of the tournament.

The final was graced by FC Platinum head coach Norman Mapeza who was the guest of honor, Mimosa General Manager Stephen Ndiyamba, Mimosa head of Human Resources George Mawere and Director of all Sporting activities at Mimosa, Forward Manyanga.

Speaking to The Mirror Mimosa General Manager Stephen Ndiyamba said the tournament was a success. He went on to say the tournament is part of the wellness program that the company is running to ensure that every employee is healthy and to increase productivity at the company and maintain fitness.

“The broader picture is for our employees to be healthy. The main issue is wellness,that will lead to increased production at work. Healthy people have a better chance against pandemics and we are encouraging our employees and families to stay healthy. As an organization we are contributing through our wellness program “, he said.
