Bindura woman arrested in Mwenezi with 2 790g of mbanje

MWENEZI – Makaita Mangundu (37), from Tapfumanei Village in Chief Matepatepa’s area in Bindura was arrested in Mwenezi on June 12, 2021 after she was found in possession of 1 290g of dagga.

Makaita was searched by Police detectives when they found her at Ten P Shops at Neshuro.

She appeared before Resident Magistrate Honesty Musiiwa on Thursday and she will come back to court for trial June 28, 2021. She is being represented by Deyton Chirima of Chirima Associates and she was granted RTGS $3 000 bail.

The court ordered her to report at Mwenezi Police Station once every week and to reside at Number 1121 Ngundu Township.

Prosecutor Leyton Katsidzira said detectives on patrol from received information that Mangundu was in possession of dagga. They made their way to Ten P shops where they searched the accused’s bags and discovered two plastic bags loaded with dagga inside a black satchel.

Mangundu was ordered to produce any document that permits her to possess dagga and she had none.

The intercepted dagga was weighed and had a mass of 2790 grams. https://masvingomirror.com
