CHIKOMBA-The wife of Zanu PF political commissar Mike Bimha got a single vote out of a possible 39 in the race to be Chikomba Rural District Council (RDC) chairperson.
Virginia Bimha who got into council through the women’s quota nominated and voted for herself.
Thirty councillors voted for businessman and Zanu PF Ward 17 Councillor Israel Dhikinya who retained the seat. Councillor Musekiwa Chugwa got eight votes.
Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Chikomba district head Todd Chibengwa presided over the elections last week.
Dhikinya is deputized by Ward 7 Zanu PF Councillor Florence Madzamiri who was uncontested.
