BHASO, Pata Pata donate PPE’s to rural hospitals

MASVINGO – Batanai HIV and AIDS Service Organisation (BHASO) and Pata Pata have strengthened the fight against Covid-19 in Masvingo rural by donating PPE’s to Morgenster Hospital and Bere Clinic.

The donations were made yesterday at the hospital in Nemamwa and at Bere Clinic in Mashava. The PPE’s include buckets, surgical masks, infrared thermometers, spray tubes, sanitizers and gloves.

BHASO Director Simbarashe Mahaso told The Mirror that the donations are part his organisation’s Red Plus initiative in battling Covid-19 in Zimbabwe.

The brief ceremonies were attended by Masvingo District Development Economist Lust Magwati, several other Government departments representatives and officials from BHASO and Pata Pata.

“BHASO is extremely grateful to all the health and frontline workers who are battling Covid-19 whilst protecting patients. We are happy to be donating these PPE’s to ensure that the workers are protected whilst doing their jobs and support the community,” said Mahaso.

Morgenster hospital Matron Hilda Hapanyengwi said nurses and other frontline workers are fighting it difficult to assist patents and communities without PPE’s.

Bere clinic nurse-in-charge Yvonne Chingono applauded BHASO and Pata Pata for the donation. She said Bere Clinic mostly receives children and treating them without PPE’s is a challenge.
