ZVISHAVANE – Bethany Project, an NGO that deals with issues of abuse of children and women will hold a fundraising function tonight to raise money to complete a shelter for victims of abuse.
The function starts at 6pm and the venue is Roland Park Golf Club in Zvishavane.
The organization plans to raise a total of US$32 000 for the whole project with the fundraising dinner target set at US$5 000.
Bethany director, Rebecca Gumbo confirmed the development in an interview with The Mirror.
Dr Banabas Marambire, a leading businessman popularly known as Barmlo will be the guest speaker.
The project comes after the realization that there is no accommodation in the mining town for abandoned and abused children and young women.
Entertainment will be provided by Victor Musara.
“The survivors of violence usually don’t have a place of safety. The structure is currently at roof level so we are trying to raise funds to complete the building. Dr Marambire will be the guest speaker and Musara will provide entertainment. The event is open to everyone”, she said.
