Harare – The World Bank has issued a statement warning the public to be wary of fake websites that have been created and are impersonating the World Bank Group in Zimbabwe.

In a statement released today, the Bank said that the websites seek to lure entrepreneurs and small businesses in Zimbabwe to apply for IFC loans by downloading and filling in application forms available on the fake websites.

IFC is a member of the World Bank Group (WBG).

“IFC has been the subject of cybercrimes attacks from unknown individuals and entities. The perpetrators have created a series of fake websites, emails, loan application forms and URLS impersonating IFC in Zimbabwe.

“We caution the public to be wary of these and other similar entities that claim to be associated with IFC or other members of the World Bank Group,” said the statement. https://masvingomirror.com
