Battle for top spot as Mimosa Social League hots up

ZVISHAVANE – Log leaders Mine Machine Department face their biggest challenge yet in the newly introduced Mimosa Social League as they take on second placed Mobile Equipment at ZRP Zvishavane Sports Ground today.

The two are separated by two points with eight matches played so far. Mine Machine is at the top with 19 points from their 8 games having won 6 games, drew one and lost one match. Mobile Equipment are second with 16 points but only on top with a superior goal difference from third placed Geo Survey.

Mobile Equipment has won 4 games, drew 4 and is the only team yet to taste defeat in the league which has Estates at the bottom who are still to record a single point from their 8 games with straight 8 defeats.

Mimosa social league comprises 18 departments at the platinum mining company who are encouraging wellness to all of its employees and sport is the fundamental element in ensuring the much needed wellness for the workers.

Mine machine won their last match 2-0 against Mining North meanwhile Mobile Equipment demolished Estates 6-1 in their last match.

Match week 9 will also see Boltrec play Geo survey meanwhile plant play MHL and mine planning tackle mining north.
