Zaka – A two-months-old baby, Jacob Mutandavari was killed in a hut fire at Mutandavari Village under Chief Nyakunhuwa in Zaka on Friday.
Two months ago another four people were burnt to death in Zaka.
The incident occurred at 3pm when Miriam Vengesai (23) mother to the deceased left her son sleeping in Anna Vengesai’s hut while she was out working on her field some 30 metres away from the homestead. Miriam and Anna are sisters married to one man.
At that Anna went back home from the field to change her hoe and she discovered that the hut where Jacob was sleeping was on fire. She informed the mother and called out for help but the roof was already curving in.
Police spokesperson said investigations are still under way.
Jacob was burnt beyond recognition and the matter was reported to ZRP Zaka.
