MUTARE-Rusape Magistrate Annie Ndiraya has remanded in custody two armed robbers who committed a robbery while masquerading as Police officers in Vengere last week.

Shingirai Muchedzi (36) and Charles Nindi (35) of Alpha plot, Rusape, were remanded in custody to July 7, 2022, for the continuation of trial when they appeared before Ndiraya on Monday.

The court heard that the Muchedzi, Nindi and three other members still at large broke into Melody Maphosa’s house in Vengere last week wearing full Police uniforms and demanded cash and valuables.

They got away with US$34, two cell phones and a satchel.

Police tracked down the robbers and arrested Muchedzi and Nindi. Police uniforms were found in their apartments. Maphosa also identified the two at a parade held at Rusape Police Station.
