Chivhu – Chikomba Rural District Council will with immediate effect require anyone using open land including religious gatherings by apostolic sects to get lease agreements for the space.
A letter signed by the CEO, Buleni Chiwara says people who want to use open land including for urban agriculture will need to apply and get approval for the use of that land.
Failure to comply with the requirement will see the occupation being affected by council clean-up programmes.
“Individuals or organizations carrying out cultivation or religious activities on open spaces are advised to regularise their operations. Those who wish to use open land in Chivhu, Nharira, Sadza Growth Point, Masasa and other business centres within the district should apply and sign lease agreement forms prior to occupation and use of open spaces,” said Chiwara.https://masvingomirror.com
