Angeline Zhou crowned Miss Masvingo 2021

Masvingo – Angeline Zhou (25) a first year Media and Cultural Studies student at Great Zimbabwe University was crowned Miss Masvingo 2021 at a pageant held at the Sports Club on Friday night.
Zhou walked away with US$300 prize money from Pote Holdings, US$30 and an umbrella from Thunder Run. Mitchell Amos from Zaka was crowned the first princess and she received US$200 from Pote.
Masvingo model Marvelous Ganje scooped the second princess crown and walked away US$200 richer. Judith Chimombe a student at Masvingo Polytechnic was crowned Miss Personality and walked away with US$150 while Respina Shoko was awarded Miss Talent and received US$180.
All 14 models walked away with US$100 courtesy of Pote, Zhou takes over from Catherine Mashavire who was crowned Miss Masvingo in 2020. The contestants modelled in the African ware, night ware, dancing and free style categories.
“I am happy to be crowned queen. I did not expect to win given the stiff competition but I came out tops and won the pageant. I will use this platform to further the fight for girl rights,” said Zhou.
Pote Holdings general manager Tamson Mtombeni told The Mirror that they are nurturing and supporting the girl child through modelling and giving back to the community. Seasoned Masvingo Poet Ngoni Paradza aka Mambo Guramatunhu provided entertainment.
The contestants were drawn two from each of the province’s seven districts. Pageant director Donovan Takaendisa, told The Mirror that he is grateful to the business community for making this event a success. https://masvingomirror.com
