MASVINGO – The inaugural Masvingo business expo has roared into life today with ninety-five exhibitors exhibiting and selling their products. The number excludes local authorities who are also showcasing goods and services, the expo’s organising chairperson Clever Chingwara has confirmed.
The show which is being held at Flamboyant Hotel is running under the theme “Masvingo Investment Hub towards Vision 2030” It is a first of its kind and the organisers said they are happy with the response from the business community.
Speaking at a press briefing today Masvingo business expo vice chairperson Andrew Chekani said the expo will create serious opportunities for interaction between businesses and key stakeholders.
He said the expo will put Masvingo province on the national map and will ensure showcasing of products and services from local business players who used to have a torrid time going to national expos like Sanganani/Hlanganani business expo and the ZITF.
“This expo will create serious opportunities for businesses and stakeholders. Masvingo has a lot of potential that is not being tapped and we want to make local exhibition a norm especially to local businesses that do not have the capacity to attend national business expos” said Chekani.
He went on to say he is happy with the response from some companies in Harare and Bulawayo which are around 20 and are not only exhibiting but are ready to establish businesses in the province.
