80-year-old man in court for raping girl (2)

CHIREDZI – A grandfather who is accused of raping a two-year-old girl has said that this was not possible because at his age he suffers from erectile disfunction.
Mbokota (81) of Ranganai Village Chief Neshuro, Mwenezi appeared before Magistrate Judith Zuyu on Tuesday facing rape allegations.
“My private party no longer functions so how can I rape?” he asked the court.
Mbokota is a grandfather to the complainant’s father.
Edina Marandera (19), the mother of the child said she had no reasons to lie against Mbokota because she always help him to wash his clothes and fetch water and she get money as a token of appreciation.
The State said on August 4 2024, Marandera heard her child crying in the accused’s bedroom. She rushed inside and was shocked to see Mbokota with his trouser in the knees, holding the complainant with two hands.
Mbokota was allegedly forcing his manhood into the complainant’s private party.
Marandera asked Mbokota what he was doing to her child but he did not answer, he just handed over the child’s trousers.
Marandera took her child but she did not see the child’s pants.
Mbokota is remanded in custody for continuation of trial.
