“We have completed the door-to-door registration of beneficiaries for Cash for Cereal Urban Relief Fund and we are now working on data capturing.
“We have 60 439 beneficiaries for Kwekwe and Redcliff has 20 544. After data capturing we will have the names submitted to the headoffice for disbursements to be done,” said Matina.
She told the committee that she was not yet sure of the time frame for the disbursements.
“Government has also introduced the school feeding scheme targeting all primary schools in both urban and rural areas. In urban areas, only high density suburbs will benefit whilst those in low density and private schools are not considered for the program.
“The program will start as soon as schools open and schools are encouraged to collect their food from Grain Marketing Board,” said Machina.
