6 Shurugwi women hit ‘hubby snatcher’s’ privates with sticks

Shurugwi – Six Shurugwi women who allegedly stripped a suspected hubby snatcher and struck her privates with a stick were on Friday remanded in custody for various charges including kidnapping.
The suspects who appeared before local magistrate Percy Mukumba facing four counts of assault allegedly stripped Tsitsidzashe Ndabaningi (23) whom they found at Impala Waterworks waiting for a boyfriend who is said to be Sympathy Toruvanda (25)’s husband.
Ironically Ndabaningi is said to be married. One of the woman allegedly involved in the attack is Joyce Mumanyi, an Agritex Officer who is still at large.
They assaulted Ndabaningi and struck her on her private part with a stick and later bundled her into their car.
They are facing four charges which are, assault, indecent assault, robbery and kidnapping. They pleaded guilty to all charges.
The other suspects are Concilia Manyika (26), Janet Tawera (40) , Getrude Muzengeza (39), Ennie Jegede (20) and Nelia Nyamidzi (44) who is Toruvanda’s house maid. All of them reside at Sebanga Extension Surbubs. They were remanded in custody to March 22, and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Tafadzwa Guzette said on Tuesday last week at around 3 pm, the complainant was at Impali Waterworks waiting for her boyfriend. The accused arrived in a vehicle and Toruvanda asked why the Ndabaningi was having a love affair with her husband.
Manyika grabbed Ndabaningi as the other suspects took turns to assault her with open hands and a wooden stick all over the body. They struck her private parts and allegedly robbed her of US$35.
