Chikomba – Six Franciscan Brothers took their vows before a congregation of about 500 Roman Catholics at Our Lady of Lourdes Chivhu Parish on Saturday.
Some of the congregants came from Gandachibvuva, Gokwe and Waterfalls in Harare to witness the occasion as the young men fully gave their life to Christ.
They vowed to poverty, celibacy and obedience in front of the Parish Priest, Fr Naison Manjovha.
Five of the brothers were taking their first vows and the sixth was taking his finial vow.

Tafara Chitimbire, Courage Mbirimi, Kinwell Sachirarwe, Alouis Mutizira and Brandon Zunza were on their first vows while Tatenda Marunga was on his last.
The first five were given robes with knotted cord belts as a symbol of the Franciscan family.
Fr Manjovha told the congregation that the five were going to Zambia to start their lessons of becoming a full member of the Franciscan family while Brother Marunga was going back to the Holy College to complete his Theology studies.

Brother Marunga received gifts as symbols from his family members and the Parish to show that they were happy with his decision. The other five also received gifts from members of Gandachibvuva Parish as symbols to start their journey.https://masvingomirror.com
