GWERU – At least 55% of exhibition stands for this year’s edition of the Midlands Agriculture Show have been taken up ahead of the show slated for August 15 – 18, 2024.
Midlands Show Society Chairperson, Augustine Mupakurirwa confirmed the development to The Mirror in an interview.
He said the uptake is slow as compared to previous years.
“We expect our exhibitors to confirm at the last minute as is usually the case. We are expecting between 180 – 200 exhibitors this year. Stands intake is very slow as compared to the previous years, however we are at 55%,” he said.
“We have new exhibitors coming in and these are Vungu Rural District Council (RDC), Agro Milling Company and Fante House,” he said.
This year’s edition is running under the theme: Strategic Innovation for Economic Growth.
Mupakurirwa added that their theme was crafted in sync with the Government’s strategic goals of attaining a middle income economy by 2030.
He said over 300 farmers from across the province exhibited their produce during the previous edition and they are looking forward to having a similar number this year regardless of the El-Nino induced drought.
