MBERENGWA -Renias Ncube (50) of Mhlauri Village under Chief Mataga, Mberengwa has been sentence to 15 years in prison for raping a grade 7 pupil aged 12.
Prosecutor Moreblessing Chananda said on February 18, 2024 at 11am, the complainant left home and proceeded to Matedzi Dip tank where she wanted to look for her sister.
The complainant met the accused on her way to the dip tank and asked if he had seen her sister. The accused lied and diverted the complainant into a bush where he produced an axe before raping the minor.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene leaving the victim on the spot crying. A good Samaritan picked up the girl and reported the case to the Police.
