MASVINGO – Two people died on the spot near Matizha Business Center in Gutu when a Toyota Hilux they were travelling in overturned at around 4am today.The accident happened along Chivhu-Gutu Road and the vehicle was travelling from the direction of Chivhu to Chief Chitsa’s area where there is a funeral.

The area around Matizha is a black spot where many travelers have lost their lives. The latest to lose his life is notorious CIO operative Gilbert Mhere who was involved in an accident in the wee hours of the day a few months back. Masvingo Assistant Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu confirmed the accident to The Mirror.

Five other passengers were rushed to Gutu Mission Hospital with varying injuries, he said.The vehicle had seven passengers on board The driver lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road and overturned. The names of the deceased will be released when the next of kin are informed.
