MASVINGO- Forty-four professional and amateur golfers have registered to participate in this year’s edition of the Southern Tour Golf Tournament that kicks off tomorrow at Masvingo Golf Club. The charity tournament ends on Saturday.
Masvingo golf team captain Brian Matake confirmed the development to The Mirror.
He said this year’s edition was sponsored by OK Zimbabwe, Dube, Manikai and Hwacha (DMH) Legal Practitioners and Species College.
“All is set. We are waiting for the games to begin,” he said.
Matake said the tournament will be attended by Zimbabwe Golf Team vice president Staline Masiya and Masvingo Golf Team president Patrick Mangwiro.
“Winners will walk away with prizes and proceeds from the tournament will be donated to charity,” added Matake.
The considered longest drive for the tournament is holes number four and fourteen. The nearest pins considered are three, nine, twelve and eighteen.
Matake also said that a two-club pool is US$10 per player for both rounds. It is optional.
