MUTARE – There are 43 candidates who had applied for the vacant Mutare town clerk’s post by the close of the deadline on August 4, 2021, Mayor Blessing Tandi has confirmed.
The interviews will take place between September and October 2021.
Tandi told Chipinge Times that the quality of the applicants is pleasing and he is also overwhelmed by the response to the advert for the post.
The post fell vacant following the death of Joshua Maligwa who succumbed to Covid-19 in January this year.
“We have closed for applications and I am happy with the overwhelming response. This shows that technocrats have confidence in Mutare City Council. We have received 43 CVs and we are in the process of hiring a consultant to shortlist candidates for interviews,” said Tandi.
Chipinge Times understands that candidates include acting Town Clerk Antony Mutara, former Human Resources manager Aaron Chemvura and Housing Director Emma Mantiziba.
