Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial Commissar Jevas Masosota

MASVINGO – Four hundred and eleven aspiring Zanu PF District Co-ordinating Committee (DCC) members in Masvingo submitted their curriculum vitaes (CVs) to the Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) last Sunday for submission to the politburo for vetting.

The ruling party is set to resuscitate DCCs which were abolished during the Robert Mugabe era after it emerged that the district committees were fanning factionalism.

Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial Spokesperson Ronald Ndava told The Mirror that the provincial committee received applications from members who are aspiring to be in DCCs throughout the province on Sunday. He said 411 members submitted their CVs and the province will submit the papers to Harare for vetting.

“We received CVs from 411 party members who want to be members of DCCs which are in Masvingo. Our duty as a province is to receive only, we do not have powers to select or reject anyone’s CV. That is done by our security department in Harare and we will only be advised of the successful names after the vetting process. “We are yet to be advised of the dates which the elections will be held but members are campaigning in various districts” said Ndava.

He said members should make informed choices which will not make them regret later. With Samuel Magonde, Chivi is the only district with an uchallenged person vying for the chairperson s post.
