KWEKWE – Kwekwe City Council has suspended three municipal police officers after 270 liters of diesel went missing, The Mirror has learnt.

The city’s acting Chamber Secretary Arthunius Chidzurira described the information as confidential and declined to share it with the public.

Sources however, said the missing fuel was meant for Kwekwe National Clean Up Campaign. The matter has since been reported to the Police.

“Kwekwe Municipality has suspended three security guards who were on duty when 270 litres of diesel went missing. The diesel was for seven vehicles, two tipper trucks, two tractors and a front end loader,” said the source who requested anonymity.

“I can’t disclose such confidential information to the Press,” said Chidzirira before dropping the phone when contacted for a comment by The Mirror.

Kwekwe Municipality is facing challenges with its internal guards and is looking at engaging a local private security company.https://masvingomirror.com
