Gutu – Hundreds of people turned up at Mutuvi Village under Chief Chitsa in Gutu recently to pay their last respects to the late Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Senior Assistant Commissioner Sairosi Chaduka (68) who died at Kwekwe General Hospital of heart failure.

Chaduka who died on July 23, 2022, was honoured with a 21-gun salute because of his exceptional service to the Police force.

Police Commissioner General Godwin Matanga who was represented by Assistant Commissioner Marshal Dube at the funeral described Chaduka as an exceptional Police officer who was not only hardworking but intelligent.

Scores of senior Police officers, retired and serving attended the funeral and described Chaduka as a fatherly figure in the Police force who would handle the most delicate policing situations. They also said he was a counsellor to many junior officers.

Relatives described him as a loving man who helped many people in the extended family including sending their children to schools.

“His loss is a huge blow to the family. He left a yawning gap and its scary to imagine that we are going to live without him,” said the late’s son Wellington Chaduka.
