Abel Marimbire (26) and Martin Mugadza (29) of Utete and Macharagwa villages respectively under Chief Maranda were convicted on Wednesday last week.

The two stole two heifers and two steers from Emilia Moyo’s kraal then sold them at R12 000 to a Mberengwa cattle buyer at Mananga Market in Maranda.

They denied the charges but eventually pleaded guilty after being nailed by Telous Gumbo a cattle buyer from Chief Mapiravana in Mberengwa who told the court that he actually was the one who bought the four cattle from the suspects.

After buying the beasts, Gumbo enquired about the stock card and the two promised to go and collect as they had forgotten them at home. They however, did not return but switched off their phones.
