REDCLIFF – Three candidates, one from Zanu PF and two independent contenders have successfully filed their nomination papers to contest in the Redcliff Ward 3 by-election set for April 6, 2024.
The by-election follows the death of former Redcliff Mayor, Clayton Masiyatsva who was elected on a Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) ticket and died on January 24, this year following a short illness.
Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Midlands Province Deputy Elections Officer, Nyasha Chirikure confirmed the development to The Mirror.
“Three candidates Christina Sigauke (Zanu-PF), Rangarirai Sibanda (Independent) and Tinei Siziba (Independent) have been duly nominated to contest for the Redcliff Ward 3 by-election to be held on April 6, 2024,” he said.
Redcliff has 12 wards and eight have CCC councillors while three have Zanu PF councillors.
