MIRROR REPORTER

MASVINGO –Two decommissioned Gutu Rural District Council (RDC) vehicles were burnt after a fire that went out of control at a council workshop on Saturday afternoon.

Council Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alexander Mtembwa confirmed the matter to The Mirror.

He said the two vehicles, a Ford Ranger and Isuzu KB single cab had been decommissioned by council.

“The two vehicles did not have engines and had been decommissioned. We valued them at less than US$1 000 each.

“Employees were burning tires and the fire went out of control. They managed to contain it after it had burnt the two vehicles,” he said.
