10 Chiredzi kidnappers granted $50 000 bail

CHIREDZI- The High Court in Masvingo has granted RTGS$5 000 bail each to 10 siblings who allegedly kidnaped their stepmother after accusing her of hiding their father’s whereabouts.
The 10 from Chauke Family, Mukungulishi Village under Headman Chilonga allegedly held Faith Gwisai and her three children hostage for 23 hours. They were represented in their bail application by Panashe Matongo of Chuma, Gurajena and Partners.
Matongo confirmed the successful bail application to The Mirror which was granted by Justice Garainesu Mawadze.
The bail conditions are for the 10 to reside at Mukungulushi Village, not interfere with witnesses and to report at Chambuta Police station every fortnight.
The 10 accused their father of bewitching them and threatened him. He ran away and they turned on their stepmother and demanded information of their father’s whereabouts
The mother professed ignorance and the siblings then kidnapped her together with her three children and laid her hostage for 23 hours before she escaped and filed a Police report.
